Trou Aux Biches resort
On the Northern coast of the island, protected against the wind, Trou aux Biches, named after the typical fishermen’s village it is nestled in, has acquired a reputation bordering on the myth when it comes to hospitality benchmarks. Hotels rooms
The “Mauritian identity” is revealed straight away; the materials used display a strong character, exude an energy that belongs to the island: wood and thatch compose the 197 bungalows scattered in the gardens. All bungalows are composed by 3 to 4 rooms or Suites and are spread on 2 levels.
The rooms feature terraces, for an additional touch or freshness, and are oriented towards the immensity of the sea. Some of the Suites have been carefully designed and appointed to cater for families of 3 children. It feels natural to make yourself at home in this place that exhales a delicious feeling of evasion by the sea.
Restaurants
The restaurants at Trou aux Biches have been refurbished during 2004 to enhance the age-old traditions of outdoor living and dining associated with Mauritius. Guests can enjoy the temperate climate of this unique resort while sampling the exquisite five-star cuisine of the hotel in the open air and marvelling at the panoramic view of the sea as it stretches to the far horizon.
L’Oasis
A magnificent garden of palm trees shelters a wooden deck bordered by low walls made of natural volcanic rock. Tables are light-coloured to enhance the blend of wood and thatch to create an intimate island atmosphere. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
La Caravelle
La Caravelle restaurant explores the cuisines of the world, showcased buffet style, on special theme evenings. Featured at the restaurant are “Live cooking” exhibitions creating amazing interaction with guests and unveil a whole new world of exciting culinary discoveries from a variety of menus taken from around the world.
L’Espadon Beach
The location of this new restaurant offers a stunning view over the sea. L’Espadon serves light cuisine, based on traditional island specialities including fresh grilled seafood in an authentic tropical seaside ambience. L’Espadon is open for lunch and dinner “A la Carte”.
Entertainment
The graciousness of the Mauritian culture is unveiled to you through cultural dances, theme evenings and shows. Resident band every night, cultural dances, theme evenings, shows, casino (under separate management, open every night as from 8 p.m.) are among the night activities that Le Trou aux Biches has to offer.
