Car hire allows you to explore this magnificent island at your own pace. We bring you the best possible rates but you will need to book before you leave home in order to qualify for these great deals. Here are a few suggested regions that you can explore.  The North: Travel through Port Louis with its quaint streets bustling with activity. Visit the Caudan Waterfront next to the harbour, for excellent shopping. A 15 minute drive will take you to SSR Botanical Garden, the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. The L’Aventure du Sucre Museum is dedicated to the island’s sugar industry and is opposite the botanical garden. Further north, is Trou aux Biches with its casino and aquarium. The Central Plateau: From Port Louis, take the south-bound road to Domaine Les Pailles, discover a natural reserve created at the bottom of a valley where deer, monkeys and kestrels live undisturbed. Your next stop is the Glass Gallery in Phoenix and then the Textile Museum in Floreal. The East: From Pointe Maurice, take a boat to Ile aux Cerfs - a watersports playground. The Waterpark Leisure Village at Belle Mare will delight both young and old. Visit Flacq, the country’s biggest village which has a colourful market.

The South: Drive through historic Mahebourg and on to La Vanille Reserve des Mascariegnes next to Riviere des Anguilles. Go to Grand Bassin, the sacred lake of Hindu pilgrimage and mysticism. Various Black River Gorge viewpoints offer panoramic vistas of the south and the west.
The West: The Casela Nature & Leisure Park is a 12-hectare park offering trekking for adventure seekers. Located in the district of Black River, in the neighbourhood of Flic en Flac and Tamarin, the park has more than one hundred and forty bird species and over 2500 birds
