Conditions are perfect between Easter and mid-June. Perfect for a wedding and a honeymoon. Beaches and ancient sites are relatively uncrowded, public transport operates on close to full schedules and accommodation is cheaper and easier to find. Conditions are once more ideal from the end of August until mid-October, as the season winds down. Winter is not a viable period to visit outside the major cities and mainland as most of the tourist infrastructure on the islands goes into hibernation from the middle of October until the beginning of April.
Greece, a country of beautiful contrasts, a journey in time, from present to past and back again.
Greece has a landscape that has given us thousands of postcard images but remains incredibly vibrant and impossible to capture. Walk through olive groves and explore ancient sites where the kings of old lived and died. Move to clusters of sparsely inhabited islands. Roam from the beaches to rocky mountains and explore breathtaking scenery. In Greece the fusion of images becomes more than imagery and turns into reality. Athens is an affable city enlivened by outdoor cafes, pedestrian streets, parks, gardens and urban eccentrics. Almost every house and apartment has a balcony bulging with geraniums, and many of the city’s streets and squares are fringed with orange trees. All of the hotels in Athens boast either rooftop restaurants, pools or bars so that guests may have uninterrupted views of their beloved Acropolis, dominating the centre of this amazing city.
At the base of the Acropolis, The Plaka still retains its ancient charm with cobbled streets and bustling tavernas, and shop owners sitting outside their shops, sipping coffee and playing chess, just whiling away the time.
A perfect location for a beach wedding, simple wedding ceremony for a couple wanting to elope, a honeymoon or a romantic breakaway.
