DUGONG LODGE

Local Airport
Vilanculos International Airport is approximately a two-hour flight from Johannesburg and one and a half hours from
Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga Airport – MQP). These routes are serviced by Pelican Air in pressurized turboprop aircraft.

Passports & Visas
A valid passport is required by all visitors to Mozambique, as well as a return ticket. Please arrange for your Mozambique Visa prior to departure. Visas are obtainable at Vilanculos Airport for International travellers.
  
Transfers
Boat transfers from Vilanculos to Dugong Beach Lodge take 30 – 40 minutes (depending on the tide)
Air transfers from Vilanculos to Dugong Beach Lodge air strip take 10 minutes, and a further 25 minutes by road to the lodge.

Activities (Included) : Snorkeling, Pedal Boat, Paddle Ski
Activities (available at an extra cost)
•Salt Water Fly Fishing – Tackle available at no extra cost, however please note that lost tackle will be replaced at the customers expense
•Deep-Sea Fishing – Boat Hire and fuel available at an extra cost (Tackle as per Salt Water Fly Fishing)
•World’s View – Drive to World’s View, explore the local area and enjoy the exceptional view of the Archipelago
•Picnic at Bangwe Island – Available on request (a US$ 10 National Parks Fee may be payable direct)

Travel Insurance
Travellers are advised to secure their own travel insurance.Dugong Beach Lodge does however offer Emergency Evacuations.

Climate
Winter months are from April through September with an average temperature of 250C. Summer months are from
December through March where the average temperature is 30C. This region enjoys a summer rainfall.

•Dress is informal:
oSummer – lightweight clothing & swimming costumes
oWinter – warm clothing for evenings
•Binoculars and Camera
•Comfortable walking shoes, sun hats, sun glasses and sun screen

Chartered flights can be arranged directly into Dugong Beach Lodge (Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary)
