The Seychelles islands are of the most beautiful islands in the world and still unspoilt offering days of perpetual summer and a rare combination of people and nature living in close harmony. The Seychelles is made up of 115 islands and they are located 1000 miles off the East African coast in the Indian Ocean. Of all of the islands, Mahe is the most developed and visited with many visitors venturing across to Praslin, La Digue and recently Silhouette Island. Mahe Island has 75 beaches in total with the most popular of all the beaches being Beau Vallon Bay. All the islands of Seychelles are unique with their own beautiful settings, crystal clear waters and shady swaying palms. Each island of Seychelles offers a unique experience with something to offer for every traveller. Although the Seychelles offer the full range of accommodation from self-catering apartments to luxury hotels, careful planning has ensured that the islands have retained the astonishing beauty and quiet charm that attracted the first tourists.

Right from the start, the government decreed that no new building could be higher than the surrounding palm trees, with the result that big-city levels of comfort and convenience have been achieved in thoroughly Seychellois settings. The Seychellois are connoisseurs of good food with the origins of their racially mixed backgrounds making interesting and exotic cooking. The main meal of the day is eaten in the evening and with so much of life in the Seychelles dominated by the ocean it is little wonder that many of the recipes include fish.
